  • Adjustable Lifting Equator for Vandersanden

Goals

Vandersanden came to BKRS for an adjustable lifting equator within an existing hall. Vandersanden needed this lifting beam for lifting different types of products. As a result, flexibility in the adjustability of the lifting beam was an important requirement. Due to limited lifting height in the hall, the lifting equator had to be made in such a way that as little lifting height as possible was lost. The project with Vandersanden therefore started with clearly defined goals.

The project

Vandersanden is a manufacturer of sustainable bricks and façade solutions. With a rich history dating back to 1925, Vandersanden is known for high-quality building materials and an innovative approach to façade architecture. The company has a wide range of bricks in a variety of styles and colors, making it a valued partner for architects and construction professionals.

For these applications, the company was looking for a manufacturer of custom-made lifting beamsthat could meet the desired requirements. With this question, Vandersanden came to BKRS, who were able to give the right interpretation to Vandersanden’s needs with the knowledge and experience.

Our solution

BKRS analysed Vandersanden’s needs and developed a tailor-made lifting equator that matched Vandersanden’s wishes. One of the goals was to create as much lifting height as possible, in order to make maximum use of the available lifting height. The equator is therefore built in such a way that the hook of the crane falls between the two profiles of the lifting beam. This eliminates the height of the crane’s hook, which increases the lifting height.

The second goal was to create flexibility in lifting different types of loads. For this reason, BKRS has produced the lifting beam with an adjustability of 10 cm. With the adjustability of 10 centimeters, Vandersanden is able to lift all desired products within the hall. The lifting equator is adjustable from 1 meter to 6 meters. Furthermore, two more lifting points have been made on both sides at the top of the equator, which allows Vandersanden to also use the lifting equator as a spreader.

The result

The result of the project is that Vandersanden has a custom-made lifting beam that meets the various lifting applications. The flexible design allows them to efficiently lift different products, while the design ensures that there is minimal height loss.
