• Custom-made lifting equator for Doka

BKRS was commissioned by Doka to design a unique lifting equator for a construction project. BKRS designed this equator entirely itself.

Goals

Doka is a construction company. They are currently working on the construction of buildings with about 50 floors.

To give a building floors and ceilings, you have to constantly lift a mold or a formwork table upwards. The mold is put in place and then walls are placed around it. Concrete is poured into the mold. As soon as the concrete is hard, the mold is removed again.

Normally, the mold is applied by hand plate by plate. This takes a lot of time. That is why Doka wanted to use one large, complete formwork table from now on. But hoisting such a huge mold to the top is a major challenge. That is why they called in BKRS to design and build a lifting trailer. With this equator, Doka can easily hoist the molds upwards.

Our solution

With its in-house engineers, BKRS has created a lifting equator that is large and strong enough for a Doka formwork table. The hoisting device, which is actually a large hook. Has been designed and manufactured entirely by BKRS. After six weeks, the product was ready, which means BKRS met Doka’s tight deadline.

The lifting equator has a capacity of 3500 kilograms and can lift tables of 10 by 3 meters. The advantage of this is that you can prefab a lot on the ground with this large hook. You assemble a table on the floor and then hoist it up. Then you can easily pour floors on top of the ceiling. This saves a lot of time for Doka.

Custom

Doka is very happy with the lifting equipment. The custom-made equator meets all of Doka’s needs. BKRS likes to think out-of-the-box to make their products as efficient as possible. For example, thanks to the truss construction, the lifting equator is quite light and you therefore do not have a dead weight. The hook can be disassembled and is therefore easy to transport.
