CEVA Logistics offers each customer a service tailored to their specific needs. For a customer that is internationally active in the industrial sector, CEVA Logistics has realized an expansion of an additional warehouse unit. This customer supplies various equipment and parts for mining and metal recycling, among other things. These are parts in different sizes and weights. In order to be able to carry out the logistics services for this customer as efficiently as possible, BKRS has built various crane systems. It concerns a mobile gantry crane and two single-girder overhead cranes.
Goals
Our solution
BKRS supplies one mobile gantry crane and two single girder overhead cranes including crane track construction for this project. BKRS builds both crane systems and crane constructions. If a customer needs an overhead crane, but they do not yet have a crane track construction, they can always contact BKRS.
The crane track construction of the two overhead cranes is 30 meters long, 9 meters wide and 5 meters high. The construction is located above the work surface inside the warehouse and was built on site by BKRS. The height of this construction makes it possible to enter the work area with various lifting and hoisting equipment. The two overhead cranes run on this structure. The cranes both have a span of 9 meters and an operating load of 2 tonnes.
Mobile and flexible
CEVA logistics was looking for a crane system that could be used at multiple workplaces. The gantry crane has (plastic) swivel wheels and is therefore mobile. The crane is very easy to move and can therefore be used at any workplace. This simple solution requires no construction and is therefore very flexible. With this mobile gantry crane, the customer can go anywhere to move a heavy load.
This relatively inexpensive investment is ideal for small and medium-sized businesses thanks to its flexibility. The crane can be used in all kinds of workplaces, such as warehouses, garages, workshops, factories and of course outdoors.
No hoisting license required
An advantage of this crane is that you don’t need a lifting license. Anyone from the age of 18 can drive this type of crane. Because the control does not depend on one person, this type of crane is very popular with companies.
