As an innovative real estate organization, Lister Buildings focuses on prefabricated housing in which mainly wooden elements are incorporated. Since 2019, they have been working from a 20,000 m2 building, located in Weert. Because the building was previously used for precast concrete construction, the cranes that were present in the building had to be adapted to the new concept. Weight and 100% flexibility of lifting were the main challenges. This is because the units have to be lifted straight up on a column that is not always in the same place. As a result, the lifting point changes regularly. The units must be picked up at the right points to prevent damage. As a result, different models of units have to be picked up on different points.
An adjustable lifting equator offers Lister Buildings the opportunity to pick up each unit model at the right points without damaging the units. BKRS realized the conversion of the existing crane and designed a custom crane that met all the requirements to use the crane as efficiently as possible.
The project
Lister Buildings was founded in 2019 to carry out circular housing construction with a self-developed building system. From architect to maintenance and demolition, Lister Buildings is responsible for all facets of residential construction. The entire chain thus falls within one company. Lister Buildings is the only one in the Netherlands that can build high-rise buildings with wood. The constructions are so strong that it is possible to build up to 15 high without any problem. Everything is made prefab, so that work can be done efficiently, error-free and quickly.
As Manager Manufacturing, Jeroen Bergmans is responsible for off-site production within Lister Buildings. The 20,000 m2 building in which Lister Buildings is located was equipped for precast concrete construction. As a result, the building was already equipped with cranes that had to be adapted to the current concept. To this end, Lister Buildings went looking for partners who could help set up the cranes for prefab timber construction. Through their own network, they ended up at BKRS Crane Systems. After a visit on site, Lister Buildings and BKRS looked together at the optimal way to use the cranes. For this, BKRS then designed a tailor-made crane and lifting equator.
